Those attending the 2014 annual SCI Hunters’ Convention at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino will be entertained by some of the most widely known musicians and comedians in the industry. Each evening of the four-day show, dinners will be highlighted by groups known worldwide. Tickets are limited to the dinners so anyone interested needs to register to attend the Convention and book tickets for the evening events.
“We have been able to put together a group of entertainers and bands we know our members will love to see,” says Libby Grimes, Director SCI & SCIF Convention & Event Planning. “Members and guests can choose from a variety of entertainment or plan to attend all four evening events and see all the groups.”
Entertainment after dinner the first evening of the Convention on Wednesday, February 5 will be the country group, Big & Rich. Called America’s Technicolor cowboys, John Rich and Big Kenny Alphin offer a unique mix of country music that is all their own.
Thursday evening of the SCI Convention will be the Night of the Hunter. A reception with food and cocktails will include presentations of awards to honor hunters, our hunting heritage and the top species taken over the last 24 months. The awards program will be followed by a concert by BritBeat. This group is America’s premier tribute to the Beatles. Their look and sound is the most authentic recreation of the group that changed Rock & Roll music forever. The show they will give on February 6 will take place almost 50 years to the day after the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show.
The Friday evening entertainment on February 7 will take a twist as one of America’s best-known comedians, Jeff Foxworthy, takes the stage following dinner. Foxworthy is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best selling author of 11 books. Best known for his redneck jokes, Foxworthy’s act goes well beyond that to explore the humor in everyday family interactions. A well-known outdoorsman and hunter, Foxworthy will be right at home with the hunters gathered at the SCI 2014 Hunters’ Convention.
The 2014 SCI Hunters’ Convention will conclude Saturday evening, February 8 with a concert following dinner by the famous rock band, Chicago. The group is the second leading seller of singles and albums among American bands. They have sold over 38 million units in the United States, with 22 gold, 18 platinum and 8 multi-platinum albums. The unmistakable sound of Chicago will be sure to entertain those attending what promises to be the biggest and best SCI convention ever.
