Having a father who was an avid turkey hunter, the passion carried on to JR. He was driven to master the art of calling in the wily wild turkey to shotgun range. After successfully calling in and harvesting his first turkey at the age of 12 there was no turning back. This lead to competition calling, where he had success at a state level and then ranking on a national level as well. JR’s calling success on stage led him to the opportunity to take a Pro Staff position with Hunter’s Specialties at the young age of 14.
Calling turkeys was just a stepping stone to the full on excitement of calling in rutting bull elk every fall. From the day he arrowed his first bull elk at age 16, there hasn’t been a September when he isn’t chasing elk. After the rut is over JR switches to waterfowl hunting and enjoys calling birds in to the gun.
After spending 12 successful years chasing critters in front of the camera and having two newborn sons at home JR made the decision to take some time from his full-time hunting career to be with them. While passing on his addiction to the outdoors to his sons is a daily regimen, the family also has a whole new plate of seasons involving baseball, football, and basketball.
With less time in the field, JR has more time to help Hunter’s Specialties with product development. He was instrumental in helping bring products such as the Mac Daddy elk call and the Bull Hooker to the market.

Jack was raised hunting with his father and uncles in Tennessee. In 1960 he harvested his first whitetail, an impressive 8 pointer, and has been successful every year he has hunted since.
Jack harvested his first wild turkey in 1962. In 1978 Jack harvested the first legally taken turkey at Fort Campbell, and is the only hunter to take one every year since then both spring and fall. Since he first started hunting them, turkeys have been a passion for Jack. "My goal is to hunt turkeys in every state which has them," said Jack when he was asked what his current turkey hunting goal is. So far he has fulfilled his goal in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Missouri, New York, and Kansas. Jack plans to hunt seven states each spring until his goal is complete.
While in the Army, Jack had the opportunity to hunt Roebuck, Asian stag, elephant and wild peacock, as well as German ducks and Korean deer and pheasant.
Since his retirement, Jack spends as much time as possible hunting, conducting seminars, holding in-store promotions, giving turkey hunting classes, and guiding for turkey, deer, quail, and pheasant hunters.
As a Hunter's Specialties Field Advisor, Jack's opinions and innovative ideas are highly regarded. His extensive hunting in differing terrain allows him to honestly test Hunter’s Specialties calls and products.

From 1999-2002, along with good friend Steve Snow, Mitch co-produced and edited their own production series "Pure Adrenaline". Their work eventually brought Mitch and Steve to Hunters Specialties in 2003 where they began to film hunts for Primetime Bucks DVD series and HS Outdoors TV.
Having taken nearly 30 Pope and Young whitetails in front of the camera, Mitch also feels equally fortunate to have filmed many more than that working behind the camera. His love for bow hunting and the challenges of hunting with two guys in a tree brings equal respect for both the cameraman and the hunter.
Mitch has also worked with Don and Kandi Kisky's "Whitetails, Taking it to the Extreme", Pat Reeve's "Driven TV", Realtree’s "Monster Bucks", and "In Pursuit", with Greg and Jake Miller. Mitch is proud of being a part of the Hunters Specialties team for over ten years now and is looking forward to many more.
