Sean Mann

Sean Mann is a native of Easton, Maryland. His father took him on his first goose hunt when he was 5 years old. He began guiding goose hunters on Maryland’s Eastern Shore when he was 15.

Sean won the World Goose Calling Championship in 1985 and repeated his championship performance in 1986 using “The Eastern Shoreman”, the long goose call he developed. These accomplishments paved the way for most of today’s goose call makers.

Since 1985, Sean’s goose calls have won 17 World Titles. They were the first to win the World Goose Calling Champion of Champions Title and the International Champion of Champions Title and have been used by more winners of the World Game Calling Challenge than any other Waterfowl Calls.

Sean was the first winner of the prestigious “World Goose Calling Champion of Champions” competition held at the 1995 Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland. As the winner of this competition, Sean was automatically and officially retired from World Goose Calling competition.

Sean won the Mason-Dixon Regional Duck Calling Championship in 1994, 1995 and 1997, officially retiring him from that competition as well. In fifteen years, Sean was a finalist in 12 World Goose Calling Championships and 9 Mason-Dixon Duck Calling Championships, an unprecedented record in the history of the sport.

Sean is the first and only person to ever be officially retired from all adult division calling contests at the World Goose Calling Championships.

In 1998 Sean opened a waterfowl guide service in Alberta Canada. This, along with his Maryland Guide Service and his thriving call business keep Sean busy all year long!

In order to further the sport of competition calling in the East, Sean founded the World Live Duck Calling Championship, the World Live Goose Calling Championship, the Maryland State Duck and Goose Calling Championship Contests. The Chesapeake Bay Open Duck and Goose Calling Championships, the Upper Chesapeake Bay Goose and Duck Calling Championships, the Susquehanna Flats Classic Goose and Duck Calling Championships, and the Old Time Barnegat Bay Waterfowl Calling Championships and Two-Man Team Waterfowling Competitions.

He serves on the Waterfowl Festival Board of Directors, and has served for many years as Chairman of the World Goose Calling Championship, The World Live Duck Calling Championship, The Mason-Dixon Duck Calling Championship and the new World Live Goose Calling Championship.

In 2008 Sean began hosting the new Television show Waterfowler’s Edge, sponsored by Beretta USA, Final Approach and Delta Waterfowl.

Sean serves as a consultant/advisor to Beretta USA, Bushnell, Final Approach, Jordan Outdoor Enterprises, Rivers West, Real Geese, Patternmaster, and RedHead.
